You not only fixed my computer which turned out to be a simple problem; however, a problem which caused major difficulties with me doing my research work. Send a text message to Google

Ever been on the road and find that you need a phone number for a business?  Try sending Google a text message.  While out of town last week this feature helped me countless times. 

Here's how you do it:

Create a text message and in the "To:" field enter Google's phone number: 466453
In the body of the message type: name of business Sacramento, CA
You can also enter the zip code to make the results more specific.

For example, I would text 466453 and the message would read: "round table pizza 95826"
From there you hit Send and in about 10 seconds Google will reply to your text message with the results.  In this case it gave me the name of the business, the address, and the phone number.  In all, Google returned 3 results, it gave me the Round Table in my neighborhood plus two other Round Table's nearby.


This is a great free service provided by Google and it can be a real help while out and about.

Windows 7 and XP

Are you interested in Windows 7 but still like Windows XP?  It's actually very easy to have both on the same computer.  Its called dual booting and it allows you bring up  XP or 7 when you start up the computer.  This way you can play around in Windows 7 and then when you need to get back to work, you reboot the PC, chose Windows XP and your back to your regular computer.

Best of all, Windows 7 is free to anyone right now.  Basically, Microsoft has made the 'Beta' or 'Test' version available so that people can try it out and report any problems or suggest new features.  The only catch is that it will stop working next March unless you purchase the license.

Windows 7 is Coming

Windows 7, the much anticipated successor to Vista will be released October 22nd of this year. So far Windows 7 is getting good reviews and will replaced the much maligned Windows Vista.

The Five Best Malware / Spyware Removal Tools

Most Viruses and Spyware, aka Malware, can be removed using these applications. My recommendation is to avoid paying for software like McAfee and Norton and instead use applications like AVG Anti-Virus and Malwarebytes. AVG and Malwarebytes are much better than McAfee and Norton in my opinion and they cost much less. Both AVG and Malwarebytes offer free versions of their application.
